Never Going out of Style

Recently I thought it would be fun to delve into a bit of fashion history, and find five pieces in my wardrobe that have been in style for at least fifty years. As much as I love a good statement piece or floral print, these pieces wouldn’t go very far without a classic foundation of basics. Each of the five pieces I’m sharing today would be just as at home in my grandmother’s wardrobe as they would in mine, a true testament to their classic nature.

The Perfect Spring Dress

Sometimes you find a piece for your wardrobe that just feels perfect, and I knew that had happened when I tried on the Cecily dress from Gal Meets Glam. This little floral frock features a stunning floral print, 1940s sensibility and lines, a full lining, and pockets! I’m not sure I could imagine a more perfect dress for the spring and summer, and it would make a beautiful choice for Easter or Mother’s Day. Today I’ve styled it with a basket bag and mules, but I could also see myself wearing it with espadrilles and a denim jacket!
