Handmade Fashion: Floral Wrap Top

When Rifle Paper Co. released their most recent collection of fabric, I knew I wanted to make myself something out of the pretty mint green rayon. I loved the summery floral print, and when I saw a pattern for a wrap style top, I was so excited to get sewing. The finished blouse is light, breezy, and perfect for summer.

Sewing Notes

To make this top I used Simplicity Pattern 8644, view D. It was a pretty simple pattern to sew, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. The only changes I made were to move the interior buttons slightly over so that the waist fit a bit tighter, and to add some top stitching.

Styling Notes

I love how this top pairs with a simple pair of jeans. Mine are from Prana, and are the softest organic cotton. Since I was wearing jeans, I added a thrifted straw bag and my favorite lace-up Madewell sandals for a bit more of a summer feel. It was perfect for an afternoon of coffee and exploring my hometown.
